Welcome to the Service-Learning Course Database
The Office of Service-Learning (OSL) maintains a database of Service-Learning (SL) courses taught at BGSU each semester. This database is the foundation for dissemination of information such as: (a) reports to the BGSU President, Provost, Deans, and Chairs on the work of service-learning faculty in each department; (b) external reports related to faculty work and student learning for organizations such as the Campus Compact, the President's Higher Education Honor Roll, Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, the University System of Ohio, and Higher Learning Commission; (c) resources for students who are interested in taking a SL class; and (d) referrals for community partners interested in working with a faculty member or a particular course.
Faculty members and instructors are asked to report on their course(s) every semester in which they teach a service-learning course. If you have taught this course before you will have the option to transfer data from a previous term and make updates as needed.
What do you do now?
All faculty and staff members who teach a service-learning class should login using their BGSU username and password to be able to enter a course profile. Login using the form below to initiate the process.
Filling out the database gives you the opportunity for the Office of Service-Learning to highlight your contributions to the university, to your students, and to the community. Should you have any questions or need any assistance, please contact us at the Office of Service-Learning (419-372-9865 or slbgsu@bgsu.edu) or check the Frequently Asked Questions section.
